GIVING BACK to ONE DESERVING 2010 SENIOR

One of the most exciting and rewarding aspects of running Marci Ralph Photography is being able to practice the art of giving back. There are many  people in our country struggling for the basic necessities of life. There are many high school seniors out there who will not have the senior pictures they have always dreamed of, some…no senior pictures at all.

Charity is not always about providing money but sometimes looking at your assets and finding a need that you can fill with a service you can provide. We are so blessed to be able to do what we love and support our families through our studio. We really want for someone who can’t really afford what we do, to get to experience what we do and the pictures that are the lasting reminder of this time in their lives. The central Indiana community of high school seniors and their parents has been very generous to us over the last few years and it is time for us to return the favor. We will be offering our first annual Give Back Award for one deserving senior graduating with the Class of 2011. The Give Back Award will cover a classic 1-2 hour portrait session and a portrait package valued at $600.

If you are an high school senior, it is time for senior portraits. Senior pictures is one of the many rites of passage that most high school seniors look forward experiencing during their senior year. For most seniors it is just a matter of deciding on the perfect studio and booking an appointment. But, some students don’t have the opportunity to make that choice. There are a variety of reasons that can keep seniors from being able to have the portraits they are dreaming of… maybe mom or dad have been laid off, maybe there was a catastrophic event in your household, maybe a medical issue that has caused a financial set back.   With the economy as it is, there are families who are experiencing financial setbacks or personal circumstances keeping the senior pictures that they have been dreaming of on the back burner. Maybe it is even bad enough that it is just not going to happen at all. I would like to remove this obstacle for one deserving senior from the Class of 2011.

Deserving seniors can apply for themselves and tell us why they should have this opportunity or maybe you know a senior who is too humble to step out of the box and tell their story… in that case fell free to nominate that senior.

Applications are being accepted now through APRIL 15th, 2010. Just use the contact form above. We need the name of the student, the high school they attend, at least a couple of paragraphs of the story relating why they deserve this award. We will review the entries and will announce the 2010 senior who will receive the the Giving Back Award on our blog by May 1st, 2010.

Being ECO-FRIENDLY JUST MAKES SENSE! / Indiana Senior Pictures

Good morning world! It’s going to be a beautiful spring day in central Indiana and a great day to be alive and enjoy life! Spring to me always means a fresh start, a time to change things up and make things better!

You know, probably the greatest thing about owning your own business is how much control you have over everything. There are no bosses to negate what company policy is or how we should do things. We get to take personal responsibility for those things. Making our work-life more environmentally friendly can also be a more efficient way of getting our information into the hands of our clients. It’s a win for the planet, a win for us and more importantly a win for you, our clients. Having our information and portfolio accessible 24/7 online via our website has been at the top of my list since starting this business, wow, quickly approaching the 10 year mark. Starting now, we are taking things one step further buy presenting our studio brochures and product offerings in an online format.

You will be presented with a couple different versions of our easy to navigate, online magazine style brochure. Under the pricing tab here on the blog [and below] you will find our PRICE GUIDE with pricing and basic studio information. Once you have made the choice to book your session we will send you links to our STYLE GUIDE where you will find our guide on What To Wear, Tips, Frequently Asked Questions and even a store list of online and real world places to buy lots of great fashions to rock out your session with us. Then there is our STUDIO BROCHURE where you can view pricing along with a more detailed view of the frames and other products we offer.

Each version of our online brochure will also feature cover images of our clients. These covers will be changed out from time to time, much like the different covers of a monthly magazine with new cover girl images. So as a client… keep an eye out, you could be one of our COVER MODELS!!! Congratulations to our three inaugural COVER GIRLS, Hannah File of Fishers, Nicole Holmqvist from Plainfield High School and Ryann Bentley from Cathedral High School.

Below you can take a peek at our basic PRICE GUIDE. You can use the navigation arrows at the bottom center or grab or click a corner and flip through the pages. You can also turn off the sound or click the icon at the far bottom left to take it into full page mode. Just click esc to get out of full page mode when you are done and it will pop you right back to this blog page.

ENJOY!

FACEBOOK FAN FAVORITE SENIOR PICTURE / Best Senior Pictures in Indiana

We recently held a contest on our facebook fan page for our 2010 seniors to enter their favorite Marci Ralph / Victor Maiquez senior picture. Senior clients that chose to participate rallied together their friends and families to vote for them in what could be an annual just for fun event. Prizes were to be awarded for the top three vote getting images. Top prize with the most votes was a $100 gift card to a favorite store (or $100 cash) and a photo shoot for the winning senior and a group of friends. Second and third place winners would also receive a photo shoot for themselves and a few friends at our studio in old downtown Mooresville, Indiana.

Our first place winner for a photo shoot for her and friends of her choosing is Nicole Holmqvist of Plainfield High School. I shot Nicole’s Senior pictures during our packed out busy season in the summer of 09. They turned out fabulous and she totally rallied her friends and family together to ROCK THE VOTE! Her friends shot her votes up over 1k and earned her $100 cold hard cash to help her out with some spending money for her spring break trip to Florida! Have fun on [SBX] and don’t spend it all in one place! heheha! Here is a little sneak a peek at her photo shoot with her friends Emma and Sarah!

Of over 275 senior sessions last summer we had 38 decide to participate in this fun little ditty of a contest. I was fun to read all the comments that were posted as votes on each picture!

NEWS AND A SNEAK PEEK / FISHERS INDIANA MODEL

It’s been a little while since I’ve done a blog post! It’s about time, isn’t it? We’ve gotten more updating, backdrops and painting done at the “new” studio. Both of our new dressing rooms are decorated and usable. We just recently added to our accessories and wardrobe hallway with some fun and fashionable items.

A big congratulations goes out to Hannah File of Fishers, Indiana for setting her sites high and going after her dreams of modeling and doing some competition pageants She believes in going all out…..winning multiple titles at the Dreamgirl USA Pageant. Hannah is the Indiana State Supreme Runway Model Queen, State Division Runway Model winner, State Division Most Photogenic winner, and State Overall Best Essay Winner.

Sixteen year old, Hannah, is also the winner of the Centerfold Model Photo for the State Pageant Program with this image from her first session with us back last summer.

This Fishers High School sophomore has done several runway fashion shows for local and national designers and is the reigning Miss Fishers. Congratulations Hannah! We are so proud of you and wish you good luck when you attend the National Dreamgirls Pageant later this year in St. Louis.

We were happy to get a message from Hannah’s mom to schedule updating her model and head shot portfolio. We met at the studio on a rainy Saturday and played with our new beach backdrop, antique doors, up in the store windows, on our new underground graffiti backdrop and even out on the rain! It’s always fun wen the File clan comes calling. It was great to meet one of Hannah’s good freinds, Sierra. She was great help with Hannah as well as a trooper when it came to holding the umbrella over my camera while we ran out to play in the street in the rain. Thanks Sierra!!!

…isn’t she just a doll!?!?! and umm sixteen year olds should not be looking so mature and gorgeous! But Hannah is as sweet as she is pretty and a lot of fun to be around.
Enjoy the sneak peeks
